Taboo Hot Seat

Like Hot Seat, but describers cannot use specific "taboo" words associated with the target.

Procedure

1. A student sits facing their team, back to the board.
2. Teacher writes a word on the board along with 2-3 taboo words that cannot be used in descriptions (e.g. "hairdresser" with taboo words "cut" and "hair").
3. Team members describe the word without saying it or any taboo words; the student guesses.
4. Rotate after each round.

Tips

• Choose taboo words that are the most obvious describers -- this forces creative paraphrasing.
• Appoint a student referee from the opposing team to catch taboo word use.
