Dialogue Journals

Students and teacher maintain an ongoing written conversation in notebooks.
Procedure
- Students write a journal entry (topic of their choice or prompted).
- Teacher reads and writes a genuine reply — responding to content, not correcting errors.
- Student reads teacher's reply and writes back.
- Continue the exchange over days/weeks.
- Periodically, give focused feedback on one recurring error pattern.
Tips
- Reply to what they say, not how they say it.
- Model correct forms naturally in your responses — students notice and pick them up without explicit correction.
