Students form two lines and whisper arguments for/against as a character walks between them.
Procedure
- After reading a text, identify a character facing a dilemma.
- Class forms two facing lines — one side argues FOR a decision, the other AGAINST.
- One student walks slowly down the "alley" as the character.
- Each student whispers their argument as the character passes.
- At the end, the character announces their decision and explains why.
Tips
- Coach students to make their arguments personal: "Think about your family..." not just logical.
- The whispered format creates an intense, focused atmosphere.
