One student describes a route on a map; the other draws it on their blank version.
Procedure
- Give Student A a map with a marked route.
- Give Student B the same map without the route.
- A describes the route; B draws it.
- B can ask clarification questions.
- Compare maps.
Tips
- Add slight differences between the two maps (e.g., a landmark missing on one) for extra negotiation.
- Widely used in SLA research for measuring interaction quality.
