Students read the beginning of a text and create a coherent ending.
Procedure
- Give students only the first half of a story or text.
- Students write (or discuss orally) how they think it continues.
- Pairs compare their endings.
- Read the original ending.
- Discuss: whose ending was most plausible? Most creative?
Tips
- Works for narratives, arguments, and even news reports.
- The comparison with the original sparks genuine discussion about reasoning and expectations.
- Also called: Continue the Text.
