Listen-and-Do
listeningcommunicationpracticewhole-classmedium prep10-20 minTBLT
Students listen to instructions and carry out actions: drawing a route, labelling a diagram, arranging objects.
Procedure
- Give students a blank map, diagram, or set of objects.
- Read or play instructions at natural speed.
- Students carry out the actions as they listen.
- Repeat the instructions; students check and adjust.
- Compare results with the original or a partner.
Tips
- The visible product makes comprehension immediately checkable — no need for comprehension questions.
- Start with concrete, physical tasks before abstract ones.
