Hot Seat

One student guesses a hidden word while teammates describe it without saying it.

Procedure

1. A student sits facing their team, back to the board.
2. Teacher writes a word or phrase on the board.
3. Team members describe the word without saying it; the student guesses.
4. Rotate the hot seat after each round.

Tips

• Run two teams simultaneously with the same word for a competitive element.
• Let teams choose words for the opposing team to increase engagement.
• Use topic-specific vocabulary sets to tie the game to lesson content.
