Consensus Task
speakingcommunicationmainsmall-grouplow prep20-30 minTBLT
Groups must reach unanimous agreement on a dilemma with no objectively correct answer.
Procedure
- Present a scenario or moral dilemma.
- Each student forms an initial position (1-2 min).
- Group discusses, aiming for unanimous consensus.
- If consensus reached, present and justify it.
- If not, explain where disagreement persists and why.
Tips
- The requirement for unanimity (not majority vote) forces genuine negotiation.
- Choose dilemmas where reasonable people genuinely disagree.
