Jigsaw Reading

Each student reads a different section of a text, then shares to reconstruct the whole.

Procedure

1. Split a text into 3-4 sections.
2. Each student reads only their section.
3. Students who read the same section meet as "expert groups" to discuss and clarify.
4. Regroup with one expert per section.
5. Each expert summarises their section; group reconstructs the full text.

Tips

• Include a final comprehension check that requires information from ALL sections — this ensures genuine listening during sharing.
